Rapsody – Laila’s Wisdom

What a time to be alive and what a time to be a female rapper! North Carolina native and Roc Nations’ own Rapsody releases this lyrically charged, eminently featured and timeless body of work entitled Laila’s Wisdom laced with 14 indisputable tracks. This is a complementary follow up to last years Crown EP and musically displays her resolute loyalty to this entity we call music.  Laila’s Wisdom listens with diary-like cognition, irrefutable flows and overall quality. The queen also received features from heavy-hitters like Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes and Musiq Soulchild to name a few amid production from 9th Wonder , The Soul Council, Nottz and Terrace Martin. What a cultural statement; what a sound project; a must listen!

“This album is colorful, mad colorful.” Rapsody said in a recent interview. “It takes you on a journey in a sense. When people listen to it, regardless of if they like it or not, one thing they can appreciate is that I drew from a lot of different places.”

Rapsody raps “Laila’s Wisdom:”

Look don’t worry bout anything they told you
remember what she SAID about winter and what the cold do
Everything’s a season and some things you gotta go through
Believe me I don’ seen it all, you’re young talking to old you
When haters come around look em down tell em “we don’t owe you”
