Sheer emotion, stunning visual clarity, raw vocals and a penned escape – AVEC’s single “Under Water” is simply industry-breaking.  

Austrian singer-songwriter AVEC just released a mini-film like performance to the Gabriel Hyden directed visual for her single “Under Water” taken from her newly released album “Heaven / Hell.” The new single follows the success of AVEC’s debut record What If We Never Forget released in February of 2018.

This track, however, marks as one of her most candid works.

Commenting on the latest single, AVEC states, “I think the song ‘Under Water’ is the most honest one I’ve ever written so far. The line “breathing underwater“ perfectly describes the pain and the struggle of being honest with yourself and being honest with everybody else. It hurts, and you might hurt people by being honest, but it’s the only way to keep on going; to get through whatever you’re dealing with – be honest, stay honest and be true to yourself, otherwise those feelings and thoughts will eat up your mind!”

This picturesque visual partnered with her lyricism , that also took the scenic route, makes this record visibly and aurally pleasing. She yanks from the base of her soul accompanied by the light strumming of her guitar. Accepting that music allows her to breathe on her own volition amidst the suffocating traumas of the mind. The metaphor of drowning is so expertly executed in this remarkably breathtaking visual which follows our leading lady as she zigzags through different terrains from the forest to dry land to the depths of a lake all correlating to her lyricism of reflection, feeling trapped, lost, fear facing amid embracing her humanity.

Speaking on the music video, she adds, “When I first saw the video for ‘Under Water’ – filled with so many emotions and despair, I got goosebumps all over my body, because it just moved me so much, I can’t even describe it. I love it, I love the whole idea of it and I absolutely love the scenes they shot underwater – she is such an amazing actress!”
