IKONIC VISUAL: LUKEY STOREY – “WHAT IT’S LIKE”

UK’s own producer, DJ and artist Lukey Storey releases his debut L.E.N produced and Sean Donogue mixed single “What It’s Like,” an intrepid lyrical tale of his youth, past addictions, mental health and the harum-scarum life of a musician. The nostalgic accompanying vocals from Katie Holmes Smith puts listeners in a time capsule headed back to the 90’s with an authentic RnB meets hip-hop vibe. From producing tracks to playing behind the decks the next chapter in his career lies fittingly in becoming a recording artist. This level of musical inclination typically develops over time but with youth in his pocket amid a therapeutic story in his forefront he’s off to quite the legendary dawn.

The Max Reginald Robson directed visual sifts between a younger Lukey and his modern countenance as he spits lyrical narratives detailing his drug dependence, touring DJ days, childhood memories, alienation and a proud rebirth. When drug use is at your front door there’s no telling if you’ll make it out but Storey knocked down his demons thus breaking the boundary curse of addiction leading him into restoration. This generation needs artists like Story – the open, resolute and lyrically gifted. Check out his debut visual below.
