Jacob Banks Releases his Legendary Debut Album ‘Village’

“Honesty, I  think life is drama, we’re all lead characters, in your own film. This is the finest of movies, it doesn’t get more interesting than real life.” -Jacob Banks

“It takes a village to raise a child,” and that ageless aphorism inspired the titling of Jacob Banks stunning debut album Village. Celebrating self makes for some of the most legendary bodies of work. The Birmingham native doesn’t just make some tunes and put them together thus calling it an album but he puts his heart, soul, blood, pain, tears and fervor into his album thus it bleeds as such.

From orgasmic collaborations like “Kumbaya” with Bibi Bourelly,  to church organ, gospel infused, bouncy soul records like “Mexico” and vividly written records like “Witness,” this album nourishes your subconscious. With ikonic album featured lyricists such as Jazmine Sullivan, Charles Harmon and Martin Luke Brown, to producers like Utters, PRGRSHN and Stint and mixers like Jimmy Douglas this album hearkens like one well oiled machine. The imagery filled sonic spirituals and his personal awareness of life’s woes, joy and detrimental effects allows this project to linger on your aural taste buds.

This album, hands down, is one of the most beautifully and poetically indited albums of 2018.

You will gain from Banks music because it’s substance imbued. Indulge in his debut project below, available on all music distribution sites.
