Just Charlii, recently featured for her saucy single “Take Note,” returns with the official release of her highly anticipated EP Phoenix laced in seven tracks – a featureless effort to emphasize her ability to carry her records alone. Phoenix, a fitting title for the project, this body of work lyrically depicts her rise from the ashes of life’s perils, penniless opinions, pain and seclusion as she soars anew, open, intrepid, loved and strong.

The London songstress marries compelling lyricism with melody. Records like “Do You Right” brim in sonic peculiarities and records like “Don’t Waste My Time” soak in her candid nature. She concludes the project with “Blessings,” a mesmerizing tune where she dips between the poles of spoken-word and breathy crooning.
