Joyner Lucas Releases the Most Ikonic Will Smith Tribute with New Single “Will”

Joyner Lucas, one of the most profound lyricists of our generation, proves that yet again with this latest record.

“Will,” a clear ode to the legendary emcee, actor, creative and entrepreneur, Will Smith lyrically depicts his influence on Joyner Lucas as he raps:

I know I’m the one
Dammit, I made it, I look at my son
I feel like I’m dreamin’, he truly a blessin’
I’m really elated, I pray that he grow up like Willow or Jaden
I know that he will
I hope he look up to me like we used to look up to Phil
I know that’s it’s real
I lay a brick at a time for somethin’ I know I can build
I learn it from Will

The visual displays the Massachusetts native emcee in various favored Will Smith roles from Fresh Prince to Men in Black to Wild Wild West.

Will Smith watched the visual and responded in a touching IG video post stating that he is extremely humbled and honored by this record.

Clearly Joyner Lucas has his foot on the industry’s neck. His highly anticipated album ADHD drops tomorrow as well and clearly it will be one for the books.

Check out the tracklist below and tune into Ikonic Music Friday tomorrow for my review.
