Mulatto’s been teasing this records release on her Instagram asking fans, “Y’all ready to hear my story?”
The “B*tch From Da Souf” emcee delivers and releases one of her most intimate and personal records to date with “No Hook.”
She raps,”Ain’t no stranger on The Net finna tell me ’bout my life though / As a kid feeling too black for the white folks / Ain’t changing my name, disagree and you can die slow / Work hard and pray harder b**** that’s all I know.”
Lyrically she doesn’t just detail her present strife but taps into her childhood struggles of being raised by a teenage mother and toxic relationships amid grappling with her mixed identity. The visual depicts a ruggedly confident Mulatto as she spits these heartfelt bars in a therapy session with herself.
