What Movies are Your Life’s Fantasy?

For those who would rather listen than read, I’ve got you covered. Listen to my latest article by clicking above!

What are some of your favorite movies and why? In the “why” you should find out some vital attributes about yourself. I’m going to list my top five movies and why. In my top five you’ll find a theme of creativity, entrepreneurship, humor and unapologetic thrills.

1. B.A.P.S: Anyone who truly knows me, knows that I absolutely love the movie B.A.P.S, not just because its hilarious but because its an emotive rags to riches story. Furthermore, it clearly emphasizes the power of friendship and entrepreneurship as two black queens create a legacy for themselves.

2. Good Burger: This movie is one of the best movies of all time, yeah I said it. It’s a movie about embracing your inner happiness no matter what the world or people may throw at you. I wish I was more like Ed, completely oblivious to negativity and year by year I’m getting closer.

3. Matilda: I’m a creative thus I love movies that explore the impossible, that’s all imagination is anyways, exploring the impractical and miraculously making it reality. Furthermore, Matilda experienced hardship, adversity, rejection from her own parents and still managed to find her little pocket of happiness – we’re very much alike in that way.

4. Underworld: I love Selene. She perfectly embodies rebellion, strength, beauty and intelligence – she reminds me of myself, minus the whole vampire thing. She’s not afraid to go against the grain, to ruffle some feathers and to stand on her principles.

5. Edward Scissorhands: I’m a bit weird and I like myself that way. Edward Scissorhands is one of those weird movies but I love it. If everyone was the same, life would be boring. I don’t like boring. I like exciting, controversial, soul rupturing, climatic realities and fantasies.

I would’ve loved to be a fly on the wall in each of these movies. I’d love to experience having a best girlfriend that I in turn start a business chain with. I’d love to be Ed for a day or for life, he’s happy and different. Who wouldn’t want to be Matilda, life would be a breeze if we had her talents. Selene is just one bad a** female. She’s strong, resilient and bold. I wouldn’t want scissors for hands but when you’re a creative you mid as well label yourself a unicorn in a world full of humans.

What are your top five favorite movies and why? Take some time to write it down. There are several reasons why those five movies are your favorite and in detailing your “why’s” you should begin build an even better understanding of who you are, what you like, what you desire and what inspires you.
