It’s no secret that 2020 has been a year of trials and tribulations, lay-offs and debt increases, quarantines and “mask-on-life” but, that’s the pessimistic view. Instead of only thinking about what went wrong this year, tell me what went right? I have a couple of exercises for you all to do.
Exercise #1:
Write down all the things you’ve accomplished this year.
Exercise #2:
Put a star by the accomplishments that you want to expand on in 2021.
Exercise #3:
Make a list of goals for 2021 and be sure to include those accomplishments for 2020 that you want to expand on. Categorize your goals by the following (optional): Financial goals, spiritual goals, body goals, creative goals, personal goals and skills goals. Each year, in my opinion, your goals should fall into the aforementioned categories. Be organized and intentional about the goals you set, the goal is to check them off one by one, be deliberate, be bold and dream big – it’s all possible.
Exercise #4:
Find your accountability partner. It is imperative that you share your goals with a close friend, parent, boyfriend, girlfriend etc. and bestow upon them the role of ‘accountability partner.’ They need to hold you accountable for your goals and help keep you on track. If you don’t have any awesome friends or a spouse etc. please feel free to email your goals to me at missikonic@gmail.com and trust me I will hold you accountable.
Exercise #5:
Start working on your action plans. Goals are not accomplished without action. It’s one thing to write a goal down, it’s another thing to set up a plan behind achieving that goal. For example, if you wanted to learn how to invest in the stock market, that’s a goal with many parts. Part one would be the education aspect, rather it’s watching Youtube videos, asking your friends or taking some courses on Udemy, that’s the start. Part two would be finding a broker that fits your needs. Part three would be capital, you need money to invest and the remaining parts would encompass research of your chosen stock picks, setting some money to the side every month to invest etc.

Do these five exercises and let’s make 2021 a year to remember!
This year did not kick your butt, it just required a different version of you to get through it.
One more time for those in the back.
