There’s an immense amount of pressure around 2021. 2020 was the year to rival all years but, also a year of increase and or decrease depending on your perspective. You want 2021 to be a successful year, a year of new money, new business ventures, new investments, new opportunities, new relationships etc. It’s all possible if you apply the three steps below – let’s dig in.
Step 1: Set some goals.
You have to monitor your growth and you can do that through goal setting and goal achievement. Without setting goals for the year, it will be harder to determine your personal progress. Refer to my previous article ‘2020 Accomplishments’ for a more in depth synopsis of goal setting and the various goal categories.
Step 2: Put the work in!
This seems rather conspicuous but, it’s the step that most people skip. They’ll do the research, allow their interest to be piqued, write down their goals and ideas but then half-a** the execution.
Without action your goals are just words on a page.
Putting the work in could be investing in some courses, being more frugal, starting a profitable side hustle, cooking more healthy meals, working out more etc. With the right intention, putting the work in is inevitable. You cannot skip this step.
Step 3: Let it be.
Don’t be so rigid in your timelines and self expectancies that you let this year pass you by – that would be the greatest loss of 2021.

Yes, set goals. Yes, give some of your goals a realistic time frame but don’t let each month just be 30 days to accomplish a goal without enjoying the simplicities of life. Take walks, go out for ice-cream, try something new, go to painting-with-a-twist, make some new friends etc. Remember, we’re still human, we’re not robots.
Don’t lose your humanity in the pursuit of happiness.
Try these three steps, in order, and remember, 2021 can and will be a great year; it’s up to you and your choices – make the right ones.
