When I say, “spoil,” what comes to mind? Money, gifts, time, etc.? However you like to be spoiled, that’s fine but, if you’re the one doing the spoiling and that energy is not being matched – you’d better stop. Typically, we love and spoil people like how we’d like to be loved and spoiled but, that backfires when that energy isn’t being reciprocated. Does your partner, brother, sister, mother etc. make you feel appreciated by your efforts or do they make you feel like it’s owed to them?
You don’t owe anybody anything and typically we are spoiling people because we’d like to be spoiled as well. I like to be spoiled with consistency because that’s what I give out. Gifts are nice but consistency is imperative – to me. Inconsistency is the ultimate turnoff, in my book, thus in truth, my ability to spoil someone with consistency is a manifestation of my spoiling them with time I’ll never get back. If I’m consistently calling you, checking on you, spending time, taking trips etc. that’s my spoiling love language. Some people want purses and extravagant purchases, I just like overall consistency but, be careful giving out what you are not getting back.
Most people are leeches and they’ll drain you – if you let them. If you can ask for money to get your hair and nails done but he can’t ask you for money for a haircut – that’s not equal distribution. Don’t ask for what you wouldn’t be willing to give.
One more time for those in the back.
Don’t ask for what you wouldn’t be willing to give.
We all love to be spoiled in whatever ways we prefer but, it’s a two-way street not a one-way street with a dead-end. Don’t let this generation make you believe that you should be “flewed-out” and taken care of like a princess when you are not willing to gift that same energy to who’s giving it to you. An unpopular opinion maybe but, hey this is my blog, if you don’t like it, you are more than welcome to exit stage left.
That’s all folks! Have a great day.
