The Limitations of Freedom

You are free, correct? You have the freedom of thought, right? Okay, great – keep reading. We are free and it is that very fact that causes limitations within us physically, financially, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. If we had the fixed life of an ant, we wouldn’t be concerned with the stock market or curing cancer or riding around in BMW’s because that’s not a part of an ant-life existence. Humanity is limitless. You can be whatever you want to be and it’s that truth that limits our scope. Typically we end up having a very narrow focus on survival alone. We can be anything and we are mostly focused on making a living, bringing home the mula. What does being alive mean to you if your sole purpose is simply existing “comfortably?”

One more time for those in the back.

What does being alive mean to you if your sole purpose is simply existing “comfortably?”

Some of us won’t touch a million dollars or visit France or go to London for tea or smoke a cigar on our yacht – is that not a choice? It’s this knowledge of choice, choosing to be a doctor or a McDonald’s manager, choosing to wake up early or sit in bed until noon binge watching your favorite show, choosing to workout or not, choosing to live or choosing to exist. Existence is that constant thumping of your heart until it gives out. Living is knowing that one day your heart won’t thump and you rock out anyway. Most of us aren’t living, we’re just trying to get by – how sad?

You are free! Do not let your mind and thoughts limit your ability to achieve whatever it is that you desire. Allegedly we don’t get to come back and try this life thing again so do not forget your mortality.

One more time for those in the back.

Do not forget your mortality.

One day you will die because death is inevitable. But, remember it’s not the years you live but the life in those years – make them count!
