Happy New Year, You Filthy Animals!

Wow! It’s 2023! It’s our Jordan year! What are your plans? How do you feel? Overwhelmed? Inspired? Motivated? Blessed? All of the above?

I am proud of myself, and I am excited for this new year, and what it may bring. I’m also a little overwhelmed by the amount of goals I have set for myself, but I will achieve them. However, I never want to be so intentional and specific about my goals that I forget to let God do his thing because his plans are greater than mine.

One more time for those in the back.

I never want to be so intentional and specific about my goals that I forget to let God do his thing because his plans are greater than mine.

I’ll be sure to let God lead this year. I want him to use me in whatever ways he sees fit. Sometimes we think our purpose is set in stone, but your purpose can shift over time as your interests change. Last year was a shift in interests for me and that’s okay – that’s exciting.

I set my goals for this year, and I divided them into 10 categories that are as follows:

  1. Financial
  2. Skills
  3. Business
  4. The Ikon
  5. Fitness
  6. Music / Songwriting
  7. Travel
  8. Social media
  9. Spiritual
  10. Reading

You do not have to divide your goals into this many categories because I know ,for some, this can be a bit much but I think it is important to have defined and deliberate goals. I believe that random goals are seldomly achieved.  That said, also be sure to leave room for the serendipity of life. Unexpected events can occur and you’re going to need to adjust and shift what you originally had planned for what you now must do.

2023 has endless potential, as long as you’re willing to jump outside of your comfort zone, to smile more than you frown, to take action over indolence, positivity over pessimism and flights over mental baggage – you will succeed this year. I believe in you, now go give ‘em hell!

You got this!
