Being Great, Requires Great Work!

My mommy got a new iPhone and she started using some of the new features. Yesterday she sent me a voice message that was imbued with gratitude and compliments of my inner work amid detailing the great pride she takes in being my mother.

I am a blessing and in knowing that, it still doesn’t compare to hearing it from those who are a blessing to you and from those that see your light.

To be a blessing is to be great but being great, requires great work.

I’m not talking nine to five work, I’m talking spiritual warfare, battles that only God could pull you through, top-notch resilience and a bulletproof mind. I’m talking sleepless nights, bouts of depression, weight loss, weight gain, severe sadness, unfathomable lows, superfluous pain caused by those that you’ve given an abundance of love to and back-breaking regret. That said, to pull yourself out of Satan’s a** you need God.

One more time for those in the back pew.

To pull yourself out of Satan’s a** you need God.

To be great, you need God and you must be willing to put in great work. God will gift you great strength but he will also gift you great obstacles.

I define being great as the unequivocal state of personal achievement.

That means that my greatness won’t look like your greatness and that’s okay. Living in an era obsessed with comparison, it seems like that wouldn’t be okay but it is and you are.

Being great is not for the feeble and negative, it’s for the sturdy, optimistic warriors. Being great requires intrepid sacrifice but it’s worth it. It takes daily work but I’m so proud of who I’m becoming. I look nothing like I did 10 years ago. I am confident, superbly designed and magnificently fashioned out of the remnants of my almost broken soul that God crafted into an immaculate masterpiece thus gifting me master-peace.

One more time for those in the back; I don’t want y’all to miss this.

I am confident, superbly designed and magnificently fashioned out of the remnants of my almost broken soul that God crafted into an immaculate masterpiece thus gifting me master-peace.

I am greatness, so are you – keep putting the work in and remember that if God be for you, who can be against you? And although no weapon shall prosper, it will be formed. Stay war-ready – you got this!
